Toilet Facilities

There are five main toilet blocks within the Centre; each block has dedicated accessible units which specifically cater for the needs of disabled people and are immediately accessible from each toilet area lobby.

Please note entrance to each toilet unit is via RADAR lock. Keys are available from service staff within the toilet areas or from the Customer Services Desks within the malls.

Assisted Change Facilities (pictured above)

The Lower Orient toilet area is equipped with an assisted change facility, including an electric hoist, and an adjustable table and Closamat toilet. The key for this facility can be obtained from the Customer Services desk in the main dome, and from environmental services staff located in the toilet areas.

Transport Facilities

Our Metrolink shuttle bus utilises wheelchair friendly buses. Some bus companies operate low floor buses to The Trafford Centre on certain services. Our on-site taxi service, Passenger Cars, offers wheelchair friendly vehicles operating from the taxi rank in front of The Great Hall.

Sensory Aids

  • Large print Mall Guides available in prominent colours.
  • Reading lenses available.
  • Toilet blocks with tactile signage.
  • Braille versions of the Mall Guide and the Fair Trading Zone information leaflets available
  • Customer Services desks are equipped with hearing loops
  • The Presentation Theatre in the Management Suite is also equipped with a hearing loop.
  • Textphones now available at the Customer Services Desk in the Main Dome and outside John Lewis.
  • RADAR keys available at all Customer Service Desks and Scootermart.
  • Specific Needs Assistant available to assist with your shopping etc.

Car Parking

  • 260 designated parking spaces set on 14 car parks around the Centre. Most are sites within easy reach of the main entrances.
  • There is a dedicated “Shopmobility” parking area near to the “Shopmobility” unit based in the Centre.

Centre Security personnel patrol the car parks and will deal with any parking abuse of the spaces set aside for customers with disabilities.

Lifts, Ramps, Lowered Kerbs

The Centre is ideal for those using mobility aids, (wheelchairs and scooters etc). There are ramps to all public entrances and drop kerbs for step free access from car parks at all locations. This includes raised “Zebra” crossings for safe access from public car parks to entrances and walkways.
